Dr. Steve Goldberg is a nationally recognized physician executive with more than three decades of leadership spanning diagnostic medicine, health plans, pharmacy benefit management, and population health. As Clinical Advisor to Alivia, he provides strategic clinical guidance to advance payment integrity, healthcare program integrity, and clinically appropriate utilization through the application of advanced analytics. Dr. Goldberg also contributes to research and thought leadership, including co-authoring a white paper with the State of Missouri demonstrating how clinical analytics can strengthen healthcare program integrity and improve stewardship of healthcare resources.
He also serves as Chief Medical Officer of HealthTrack, where he provides executive leadership for clinical strategy, laboratory medicine, quality, and innovation.
Throughout his career, Dr. Goldberg has focused on improving clinical quality while advancing appropriate utilization, payment integrity, healthcare program integrity, and the efficient use of healthcare resources.
Prior to Alivia and HealthTrack, he served as Chief Health Officer for Quest Diagnostics, where he led initiatives promoting the appropriate use of diagnostic testing to improve patient outcomes, support clinical decision-making, and optimize healthcare spending. Previously, as Chief Medical Officer of WellCare Health Plans, he provided executive leadership for medical management, quality, and value-based care programs designed to improve outcomes while managing total cost of care. His executive leadership experience also includes senior roles with Express Scripts, Coventry Health Care, Humana, Excellus BlueCross BlueShield, Aetna, and Kaiser Permanente.
Dr. Goldberg earned his undergraduate degree from Georgetown University, his medical degree from Thomas Jefferson University, and his MBA from Binghamton University. He practices primary and urgent care medicine at UofL Health in Louisville, KY.
